Change Up

I have decided that I need to start the program over again even though I am {this} close to finishing it. Phase 3 is just TOO hard for me right now and I am having to modify almost every move. I do not WANT to workout and haven’t been working out consistently each day like I did before.
SO, I will start over with workout 1, but I will add weights with each move if able to make them more difficult and get more out of the workout, as well as add in a little cardio each day.
It really sucks to say I did not complete the 90 day program, BUT I know that this will get me back into my routine and actually ENJOY working out again.

I am, however, still eating very healthy and feel great because of it! When I look in the mirror now, I can really see the change in my hips!

So, Jillian- bring it on…. AGAIN!!!

progress

OK, so not the best pictures I could have taken, but here it is! I am on day 75 or so... look how much looser my night clothes fit!!!  (I promise the next round of pics will be MUCH better!)

-          My sister’s KILLER chicken tortilla soup (minus the tortillas)
-          Yogurt and strawberries – keeps me full all morning!
-          Using The Laughing Cow Cheese instead of mayo or sliced cheese on sandwiches


My goal for next week- to get UNDER 200lbs!

MUCH better!

Much better, indeed!
Last week’s weight: 206.6
Today’s weight: 204.0
Just by choosing healthier foods, I lost 2.6lbs!!!
Some of the foods I ate this week:
-          Fat free vanilla yogurt with strawberries
-          Salad w/balsamic vinaigrette dressing (NOT my favorite)
-          Sandwich on whole grain white bread with laughing cow cheese used instead of mayo {YUMMY}
-          Toast with peanut butter and a banana
It really wasn’t that hard to eat these things and for the most part, I wasn’t STARVING.
I cut down my soda intake to 3 sodas this week and my new favorite drink is Lipton Tea and Honey- Peach Apricot! It is so yummy!

And let me tell you this- workouts 9 and 10 and cardio 3 are BRUTAL!!! I can finally make it through the entire dvd now, but geeeeez!
I’m toying with the idea of sticking with workouts 9 and 10 for another week before moving on to 11 and 12… What do you think?

SERIOUSLY??????????!

Ok, NOW I am frustrated!!! I GAINED 4lbs? What the….?! I mean, I know I didn’t eat the best this week, but FOUR pounds??? Am I EVER going to get under 200lbs? I’ve been at this for over 2 months now and I am now UP from my starting weight… If I was a quitter, now would be the time!

Last week’s weight: 202.6
Today’s weight: 206.6

So, my goals for next week:
-          Eat healthier
-          Drink more water (at least 64oz per day)
-          3 sodas per week
-          Workout every day and increase amount of time I make it through the workouts this week

So, who wants to make me a meal plan for breakfast and lunch next week so I can go shopping this weekend? I need some structure I think!!!

Phase 2 Measurement results!

I took measurements 3 days early and was pleasantly surprised with the results :)

Upper Arms:

Holy cow, I am ecstatic! I am very excited to see what Phase 3 will bring.

Life gets in the way sometimes

Life definitely gets in the way. I got off track last weekend, then got back on the wagon Monday-Wednesday. Wednesday night I only got 1.5 hours of sleep because Mia is either teething or getting sick and just wouldn’t stay asleep… so, I skipped my workout last night because I am just so exhausted! Well, I only got 3 hours of sleep last night, but I am determined to workout tonight!
I knew this week’s weigh-in would not be good and had prepared myself for it. Since I did not work out as I should and I did not eat the best either, I GAINED 1 pound.

Last week’s weight: 201.6
This week’s weight: 202.6

Looks like I have a lot of work to do this next week and beyond! I take my measurements on Monday and do not really expect to see gigantic results, but am hopeful for at least a little inch loss. Anything is better than nothing J
Goals for this week:
-          HEALTHIER snacks!
-          Drink more water
-          Limit soda intake to 3 a week (currently at 5 per week)
-          Do NOT skip a workout day

Every little bit helps

That’s right, every little bit helps and counts! Friday weigh-in showed I lost .4lbs this week. I am getting closer and closer to being under 200lbs again! This week, I pushed myself harder on my workouts and have been really sore, but I know it is working.
Last week’s weigh-in: 202.0
Today’s weigh-in: 101.6
A week and a half left before I take measurements again and I know that I will see inch loss! The pants I wear to work are SUPER loose, but the other pants I have are still tight, so I cannot move to that size yet. They are the same brand name, but different styles, so I guess they are made differently.
I am now 47 days in- that is over halfway!!!  I will call this Round 1 of the 90 day workout program. After this, I will add cardio to each workout I do to keep seeing results.
My focus for this week: DRINK MORE WATER!!!

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y

Yes, FINALLY!!!   My Friday morning weigh-in went very well today!!! I lost 2.8lbs this week!
Last Friday’s weigh – in: 204.8
Today’s weigh-in: 202.0
It is awesome to see the scale go down as well as feel my clothes fit better!! I know I am getting stronger, I feel it with every workout. I am able to push myself further each time and that is a great feeling!
Now I cannot wait to get myself measured again in 2 weeks to see those results! I am getting addicted to working out and know I will not stop once this program is over. Instead, I will just pick a random DVD each day and pop it in for a workout!
40 days in, 50 to go to complete the first 90 days!!!

Struggling

Weigh-In Friday:
Last Friday:  203.6 lbs
Today:  204.6 lbs
Change: +1 lb

Even though I can tell my body is changing, I am *really* struggling with the fact that I am gaining weight, not losing it. I gained ONE full pound this past week.  I know it is just a number and shouldn’t bother me this much, but it really does.

So, let’s review my goals for this week-
My goals for this upcoming week:
-          NO sodas (I had a few this week)----- I ended up having 4 sodas this week L
-          Workout EVERY single day (I skipped a day this week due to being sick)- DONE
-          Drink more water- DONE
-          Track my food in My Fitness Pal- DONE

So, goal wise I did pretty well! If I could just give up the sodas, I would be doing much better.

I feel A-Maz-Ing after my workout tonight! One of the last things in the last circuit was a move I could only do halfway on Tuesday and tonight I pushed all the way and did it!!! WOO HOO that feels great! I can't believe I really am getting this much Stronger.

I SURVIVED!!! Now, on to the measurements {Finally}

Yup, I survived Day 29---- day 1 of Phase 2! It was very difficult and I was drenched in sweat halfway through, but I made it!!! I feel so accomplished right now, but so tired!

Here is the Dirty Truth:

Upper Arms:
R- 13"
L- 14"

Bust: 40"

Waist: 44.25"

Hips: 52"

Thighs:

L- 29.5"


What an eye opener that was...almost depressing. BUT, I am looking forward to getting measured again once I have completed phase 2 in 4 weeks. Can't wait to compare and see the difference!

Phase 2 begins today

Yup, that's right- Phase TWO begins today!!! To be completely honest, I am terrified of what tonight's workout might bring... LOL. I know I will do it, just scared of the unknown I guess.

Weigh- in Friday...

25 days in and I’m only down 2.6lbs. It would be really easy to give up right about now, but I am not going to. Instead, I am going to acknowledge what I did wrong and fix it!
My goals for this upcoming week:
-          NO sodas (I had a few this week)
-          Workout EVERY single day (I skipped a day this week due to being sick)
-          Drink more water
-          Track my food in My Fitness Pal
Things I did good this week- I need to be positive as well!
-          Worked out 5 out of the 6 days I was supposed to
-          Did not GAIN weight
-          Did not weigh myself every day

Although I did not lose any more weight, I can tell that my body is changing. My clothes fit a little different and I can feel my arm and leg muscles more defined. I just {feel} better!
Monday starts my first day of Week 5 and Phase 2!!! Holy cow this is really flying by! I hope to see much more weight loss and inch loss in the coming weeks! I am finally going to measure myself this weekend and start tracking that as well. (I know I said that a couple weeks ago, I just haven’t gotten a tape measure yet…LOL)

Moving right along, even while sick

This week has by far been my toughest week yet. The workouts increased in intensity and I have also been battling allergy and sinus issues. I had to skip last night's workout, but woke up extra early this morning and got half of my workout done before I couldn't breathe and had to call it quits.

Tonight I completed the whole workout and feel great now, despite feeling run down and sick!

I was frustrated earlier this week due to the fact that I had GAINED weight instead of losing and have been advised by some awesome ladies to STOP weighing myself everyday and judge my progress by the way my body looks and how my clothes are fitting. I also want to take measurements and track my inch loss, but haven't made it to the store to buy a flexible tape measure yet. Maybe this weekend.

One thing I can say is that I DO feel better in my clothes and I CAN see a change already. 19 days down!!

Getting Tougher Quick!

WOW, workout 3 of Phase 1, which happens to be the first day of Week 3 kicked my butt! I am going to be so sore tomorrow, I know that for sure. This workout is no joke! What the heck did I get myself into????

How to properly take measurements?

I should have done this at the very beginning of my journey, but better late than never, right?!  I need to take measurements of my body so I can see my progress in inches as well as weight loss.

Any tips on properly taking measurements? Also, what are the most important areas to measure?

Constant Mental Battle

For some reason, today was just a hard day on me. No reason in particular, just rough. I did not make smart food choices for half of the day, BUT I finished my workout. The entire workout I was having to tell myself to keep going. I very easily could have turned off the dvd and given up, but I didn't- and for that, I am proud of myself.

I know there will be more days like this to come, and I just have to push through it. Does it get any easier to where you don't feel like this anymore?

Week 1- COMPLETE

One week down! Day 7 is rest day, so no workout for me today. I did, however, weigh myself this morning and I am officially down 3.4lbs in just 7 days!!! If I can get HALF of that each week, I will be ecstatic.

Day 4- COMPLETE

I know it doesn't sound like much, but I have completed Day 4! It was the same workout that I did on Day 1, but this time it was so much easier. Does that mean I'm getting stronger, or is it just in my head? Either way, I'm very pleased with myself!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE how Jillian Michaels structures her workouts? This 30 minute workout today seriously only felt like 10 minutes...

I have lost 1.4lbs so far, and already my pants fit a little looser. I just Feel better.

The Dirty Truth

I have started this blog to document my journey to a Healthy Lifestyle! I began the Jillian Michaels 90 day Body Revolution Program on Sunday night- 2 days ago. My beginning weight was 205.8lbs. According to the BMI Calculator, that is a BMI of 36.3, which is OBESE.

WOW, take that in. The Dirty Truth is that I am OBESE. I have known this for a while, of course, but I think it just really began to sink in and get to me. Even getting to my goal weight of 170lbs, I will still be labeled as "Obese" with a BMI of 30.1. Anything over a BMI of 30 is considered Obese.

My goals for this program:
1. To COMPLETE it.
2. To lose weight and inches- no specifics yet on these. I do not believe it is realistic to say I will lose 35.8lbs in 90 days, but you never know.
3. To have more energy.


Current Stats:
Weight: 204.4
Pant Size: 18


Those are the first of many of my goals! I will be taking progress pictures along the way and will document at the very least each phase- which would be every 4 weeks.
